Serveral things can
cause this problem. Cause 1.
1.
You have AOL's Dial-up Adapter
and AOL TCP/IP installed in your
network configuration. AOL uses a
nonstandard Adapter and TCP/IP,
if it is installed it will cause
this problem with any ISP
connection.
Solution:
Remove AOL Adapter & AOL
TCP/IP from your network
Configuration.
Step 1. Go
to Start > Settings >
Control Panel
Step 2.
Open Network
Step 3.
Click on AOL Adapter then Click
the remove Button. This should
take the AOL TCP/IP away as well.
Step 4.
Click OK, then OK again.
Step 5.
Restart your computer.

current network enviroment.

Your Dial-up Networking and
TCP/IP Install has been damaged.
Solution:
Uninstall Dial-Up Networking.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point
to Settings, click
Control Panel, and
then double-click Add/Remove
Programs.
- Click the Windows
Setup tab, click Communications
(the word Communications,
not the checkbox), click Details,
and then click the Dial-Up
Networking check box
to clear it.
- Click OK, click Apply,
click OK, and then
click Yes when you
are prompted to restart
your computer.
Reinstall Dial-Up Networking.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point
to Settings, click
Control Panel, and
then double-click Add/Remove
Programs.
- Click the Windows
Setup tab, click Communications
(the word Communications,
not the checkbox), click Details,
and then click the Dial-Up
Networking check box
to set it.
- Click OK, click Apply,
click OK, and then
click Yes when you
are prompted to restart
your computer.
